DAVIE, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins enter Day 2 of their preparations for their Week 2 showdown against the Indianapolis Colts

Here are some notes from Wednesday’s practice:
  • Miami starting cornerback Dimitri Patterson returned to practice after missing Tuesday’s session. Patterson tweaked his groin in the second half of last week’s win over theCleveland Browns and didn’t return. Patterson said earlier in the week that he plans to play on Sunday. It appeared he was limited and didn’t participate in team drills during the portion of practice open to the media.
  • Reserve cornerback Nolan Carroll worked with the first team for the second day in a row due to Patterson’s injury. Carroll is the nickel corner and will be the first player off the bench if Patterson can’t play.
  • Miami Rookie cornerback Jamar Taylor (groin) and third-string quarterback Pat Devlin(ankle) did not practice and worked on the side with trainers. Rookie corner Will Davis(toe) practiced for the second day in a row and appears close to making his regular-season debut.
  • The Dolphins are one of the few teams to have an off day on Thursday. Miami will return to the practice field here in Davie for a walkthrough on Friday.
