Wake-up caw: Jacoby Jones to get MRI

The Baltimore Ravens were routed 49-27 by the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. In case you missed it, here's my column on the gameRapid ReactionLocker Room Buzz and coachJohn Harbaugh's explanation for not challenging a key play in the third quarter. Here is what others are saying about the game in the Wake-up caw ...
  • The Ravens need to find someone who can catch the ball, according to The Baltimore Sun's Mike Preston. "There is still a lot of time for the Ravens to retool some things and for offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell to adapt his offense to his personnel," Preston wrote. "But there aren't a lot of options as far as changing personnel, and what was on display wasn't very good. The Ravens have a franchise quarterback, but not a legitimate No. 1 receiver among the bunch."
  • Wide receiver-returner Jacoby Jones will undergo an MRI Friday after spraining his knee in the second quarter, when he was hit by teammate Brynden Trawick. Asked how long he'll be sidelined, Jones told The Baltimore Sun, "I don't know. I got to find out." Rookie Marlon Brown replaced Jones at wide receiver, Lardarius Webb took over punt returns and Bernard Pierce filled in on kickoffs.
  • John Eisenberg, of the team's website, doesn't believe you can blame the loss on the non-challenge of the Wes Welker drop. "And while the right call there surely would have helped, the Ravens made far too many mistakes on this night to lateral any of the blame anywhere else," Eisenberg wrote.
  • New Ravens defensive lineman Chris Canty said the performance was not "Ravens football." Canty told Comcast SportsNet: "We all got to take a long look in the mirror. We’ve got a long weekend to look at this, digest it, and get everything corrected."
  • Unlike recent Super Bowl champions, the Baltimore Ravens opened on the road because the Orioles and Major League Baseball wouldn't give up the home game Thursday night. The Orioles drew an announced crowd of 17,383 to their 3-1 win over the White Sox, according to The Baltimore Sun.
